faux watermelons

I actually came up with this idea all on my own, and it was a huge hit. Kirsten's exact words were "these are super awesome." It was so hot the day I made these that they were melting as I was taking the pictures, but you get the point. Super easy and super cute and makes a great summer snack. These are my faux watermelon limes:

Ingredients:

1 lime, sliced in half
raspberry sorbet
mini chocolate chips

Directions:

1. scoop the inside of the lime out of the shell. This can be tough and I found using a serrated grapefruit spoon helped a lot.
2. put some raspberry sorbet in the lime shell and smooth until flat
3. add a few mini chocolate chips on top to look like seeds Pin It

  1. Very cute!
What are you going to do with the lime pulp you scraped out? You could make a lime sorbet ...

  2. What an awesome idea! I saw something similar with jello but I like the idea of the sorbet better!

  3. Jen - oops, was I supposed to keep the lime pulp?

Kara - I was actually looking at jello oranges when I came up with the idea for these.
