fun food friday: a LOVEly lunch

I threw this lunch together really fast so it's not spectacular, but the kids really enjoyed it. I found the silicone heart muffin liners last week and was so excited to use them for my Valentine's lunches. I think it adds an extra bit of cuteness to the plate. This was also my first time giving the kids babybel cheese. I've seen them all over the bento blogs with cute little shapes cut of the red wax. Mine is kind of a fail. It's supposed to be a heart, but my heart shaped cookie cutter was a little large for it and kind of lost it's shape. It is surprisingly easy to do though and I'll be trying it again with smaller/better cutters. Here's what's in this lunch:

Peanut butter sandwich cut into heart. Babybel cheese with heart cut out of the wax. I filled heart-shaped silicone muffin liners with sliced strawberries, and strawberry yogurt with Valentine's sprinkles. A few conversation hearts for a treat.

  5. This is so stinkin cute!! How do find the time to make such cute food ideas and photograph and post about it. Really my kids want their food so fast I'm lucky to get all their plates filled before they "starve". Love that I've found your blog, thanks for all the ideas.

  6. Can I just say that I am so in love with your creative food posts? Seriously, if moo wasn't so impatient I'd love to make things like that for her. I think that I'm going to give it try for the hubby tho. He'll really appreciate a delish and cute breakfast.

  8. Okay, I just came across your blog and I LOVE it. Love your creativity. Love your photos. I'm inspired. Gonna try something like this with my VERY picky 2 and 5 year old. Seems like all they eat lately are peanut butter sandwiches and hot dogs.

Looking forward to following and reading more!!
