Here is an adorable owl easylunchbox. I placed some romaine lettuce in the larger compartment (it's a great edible decoration and helps keep the sandwich in place) and placed my owl sandwich on top. The owl sandwich is made using a circle cutter. I used 2 triangle pieces of cheese for the ears, 2 circles of mozza cheese and food safe markers for the eyes, a triangle of carrot for the nose and 2 sliced carrots for the feet. The other compartments held sliced cucumber and sliced nectarines with sprinkles.

This was an adorable little sheep easylunchbox. I placed some romaine lettuce down in the larger compartment and placed my sheep sandwich on top. The sheep sandwich was made using my nesting flower cutters - the larger one for the sandwich and a smaller one for the cheese. The sheep had fruit leather ears, nose and legs and 2 icing eyes. The other compartments held baby carrots and sliced strawberries with a cute sheep pick.

Here is a cute little doggie easylunchbox. Again, I placed romaine lettuce down in the larger compartment and placed my dog sandwich on top. The dog sandwich was cut into a circle with my comfort grip circle cutter. I used white tortilla for the ears, fruit leather for the eye patch, nose, and mouth and icing eyes. The other compartments held crackers with dogbone shaped cheese and some blueberries with a doggie pick.

This was a really fun monkey easylunchbox. I placed some romaine lettuce in the larger compartment and put the monkey sandwich on top. The monkey sandwich was cut with my circle cutter, had fruit leather ears, icing eyes and a sliced nilla wafer mouth. The other compartments held a sliced banana (I start the peel from the bottom so Kirsten can peel it herself) and crinkle cut cucumbers with a cute monkey pick.

And lastly, a sweet little chickie easylunchbox. Again, I placed romaine lettuce in the larger compartment and put my chickie sandwich on top. The chickie sandwich was cut with an egg cutter I have. I used icing eyes, a carrot nose, and matchstick carrots for the head feathers, wings and legs. The other compartments held a silicone muffin cup with more matchstick carrots and some sliced kiwi with an adorable little tree trunk pick.
You can buy your easylunchboxes from either Kelly's website here or from her Amazon store: EasyLunchboxes 3-compartment Bento Lunch Box Containers (Set of 4) BPA-Free. Easy-Open Lids (Not Leakproof)
Here are some of the supplies (or similar) that I used to make these lunches:

Cute as always, Jill.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these... so inspired every time you post this week in bento boxes :) I really like the owl and the puppy. Do you have micro sized cookie cutters for the tiny shapes like the circle and triangles?
ReplyDeleteI use these ones for my son. He also has two breaks (one more snack and one more lunch), so I use these for his lunch. The silicone muffin cups fit really well in them if you want to separate things in the largest compartment.
ReplyDeleteI love that you're using these sometimes now, so I can pretty much just copy these :)
How fun! The puppy is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the owl... actually I Love all the animals!!! soooooo cute!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTotally cute- I don't even know which one I like the best!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I am in love! You have such fun ideas. We tried the lion lunch (yes, I looked at the entire last 2 years of your blog) and I can't wait to do some crafts tomorrow! Thank you for all the wonderful ideas!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are soooo cute, can't even pick a favorite. Always so creative and fun, you are a great mom!!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! My son throws his lunch bag around in his back pack so I'm thinking if I tried these his cute animal food wouldn't look so cute by lunch time, being tossed around so hard :( But I love looking at them and going to try making cute food for my daughter when she starts, I'm hoping she won't be so rough with her lunch :)
ReplyDeleteWill you be my Mom please? Always something wonderful happening here!
ReplyDeleteI love how you changed the background of each ELB to match the lid! Gorg!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. My four year old loves looking at these blog posts with me. I don't have the creative gene, but I love copying you. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! I hope I can be this creative with my kids' lunches one day!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your lunches. They are so cute! But how do you keep the designs from falling apart when the boxes are placed upright in a backpack?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's what I was going to ask. I have the lunch box that comes from easylunchesboxes, but even then if I add little muffin cups of things they end up everywhere by the time she eats. I'd love to know how you keep things together and cute until meal times!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you do for keeping the cut fruit looking fresh? My kiddos do not like the lemon juice technique. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank-you so much ladies!
ReplyDeleteLockhart designs - yes, I have lots of tiny little plastic cutters to make those details. I got the majority of them from All Things for Sale - link in my sidebar if you're interested.
ReplyDeleteBortz Family and Jackie Lee - With the romaine lettuce base beneath the sandwich, when I put the lid on, the sandwich is pressed right against the lid. It doesn't move because there is nowhere to go. Sometimes the details even get stuck to the top of the lid, lol. The other compartments I usually just put fruits or veggies, so it doesn't really matter if they move around a bit. I also pack these flat in her lunch bag and then her lunch bag is packed flat in her school bag. There isn't much room for anything to move around. I'm not at school to see the lunches, but she tells me they still look cute - that's coming from a 4 year old though, lol.
Ms. Amber - if your kiddos don't like the lemon juice, pineapple juice also works well - it's sweeter too so kiddos usually take to it a bit better. I hope that helps!
Thanks, Jill! I'll have to get a backpack and bento boxes that will pack flat. Right now I'm using a Goodbyn and have to pack it upright in his little backpack. Thanks for the tips! Love, love, love your blog and all your amazing ideas!
Deletelove all the cuteness. i was just wondering if the cut bananas etc keep fresh until lunch time or do they get brown?
ReplyDeleteOMG Jill. You have no idea how excited I am to see my lunchboxes so gorgeously presented here by you. Just stunning! Thank you so much for these amazing pictures and the bonanza of bento love!!!
ReplyDeleteCute! I have one of these lunch boxes and my husband loves it so much he uses it when I'm not! I have to get more.
ReplyDeleteJill, I love your cute and healthy lunches :)
ReplyDeleteThank-you so much ladies!
ReplyDeleteSansku - I always leave the bananas in the peel with just the top and bottom sliced off so she can easily peel it herself. It might turn a little brown on the top and bottom, but Kirsten has never said anything and it always comes home eaten. I'm assuming it's edible if she's eating it, lol.
