Happy 3rd Birthday Camden!!!

Pin It Happy Birthday little man. Today is Camden's 3rd birthday and I can't believe it. He's grown so much over the last year, it's amazing. Camden is such a sweet little boy. He's a little shy, stubborn, and knows exactly what he wants, but he's also the cuddliest guy I know. He'll never pass up an opportunity to get and give cuddles and share his love. He's really smart. The boy plays games on the iPad better than me, lol. It truly is amazing to watch. He loves playing with his big sister, loves EVERYTHING cars, and loves reading his bedtime stories. Happy birthday little man. We love you so much and you've brought so much joy to our lives. We had an awesome monster party for Cam on the weekend and it was so much fun. Here's some of the pictures of my little guy's big day:

Here's his birthday invitation with my personal info erased out for the web. I made the card myself in photoshop and bought the clip art from Etsy here. Too cute!

Here's a few pics of his party. We had monster grins. I purchased them on Etsy here , printed them, cut them out and taped a straw to the back. You'll see below that all the party guests had fun with them! For the favors for the little ones we had adopt a monster with ugly dolls and I made some monster play doh. We had monster OJ bottles, and monster cupcakes.

The kids had some picture fun before the party with some monster candy teeth. I had them leftover from the cupcakes. They're so funny.

Here's the cupcakes. Not the most professional looking, but fun nonetheless. Most of the inspiration for these cupcakes were found in my Martha Stewart Cupcake book found here - Martha Stewart's Cupcakes: 175 Inspired Ideas for Everyone's Favorite Treat LOVE this book. So many fabulous ideas.

I found an awesome idea for the adopt a monster here . The kiddos absolutely adored it and it was a great alternative to candy filled loot bags. This time of year it seems the kids get enough candy! Now I can't knit, so I bought each of them an ugly doll and we drew names out of a hat so the "adoption" was fair.

To go along with their adopt a monsters, I also made the kiddos a can of monster play doh. I just took a can of regular play doh, wrapped cardstock around it and used cardstock to make the faces. It was pretty easy and a hit with the kiddos.

I had each of our party guests take a picture for this monster grin collage. I put up a piece of aqua coloured photography backdrop paper and each of our guests took a picture with a monster grin of their choice. This is a great party keepsake!

And here's the little man himself! He had so much fun at his monster party. Happy birthday little guy!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Kirsten!

Pin It My little girl is four today! I just can't believe it. Kirsten is just a delightful little girl who is full of happiness. She is kind, generous, and a wonderful big sister to her brother. I couldn't be more proud of her and it's so rewarding to watch her grow. We had a party for her on Saturday and she had so much fun. I'm not really sure what the theme of the party was. Maybe lollipop girly candylandish?? Regardless, it was a blast. I took a vacation day off work to spend the day with my little four year old. We have quite the day planned, just us girls. She's so excited. So, I'm going to post and run. Here's a few pics of her birthday party. Happy birthday my little love! We love you so much.

the invite

The invite was supposed to look like a lollipop. Looks like mama needs a circle cutter. I'm not so good at cutting circles free-hand. The other funny part is that I made these, and then never sent the majority of them out. Oops! I got the idea for the lollipop invite here .

My sweet little birthday girl. She had so much fun and I think it shows all over her face!

The gumball necklaces. This was a real hit with Kirsten. I was going to make one for all the girls, but time got the best of me. The necklace looked so sweet on Kirsten and totally fit the theme of her candy party. I'll share a tutorial later this week on how to make the necklaces. I got the idea for the gumball necklaces here .

And finally, some pics of the decorations. I made lemon raspberry cupcakes with raspberry sugar crystals. We also had pink lemonade with fresh sliced lemons. I made a couple lollipop trees which I'll also share a tutorial for later this week. The goodie bags were pink favour boxes with tags I made with lollipop clipart. I had glass vases filled with strawberry milkshake whoppers (yum!) and hung colourful chinese paper lanterns. It was a fun, girly, candy party and the birthday girl thoroughly enjoyed herself!

Come back next week for my tutorials on the gumball necklaces and the lollipop trees! I hope all my American friends have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Happy 2nd Birthday Camden!

Pin It Today is my sweet little guys 2nd birthday. I can't believe it. I still remember being in the hospital 2 years ago today, eagerly anticipating my little man's arrival and REALLY hoping I would be home for Christmas! Everything went great and I was able to go home on Christmas Eve. Camden is such a joy. He's the busiest little boy I know and always keeps us on our toes. He loves climbing things, getting stuck in things, and making big messes. But, he also loves hugs, kisses and cuddles. Despite how busy he is, he'll always take the opportunity to cuddle up with us and I just love it. His best friend in the world is his sister. He loves his sister so much, it just melts my heart. He's learning new things and new words every day and he never ceases to amaze me. I love you so much my little Cam. Have a wonderful 2nd birthday (excuse me while I wipe my tears!). I now have a two year old and a three year old. Where does the time go?? We had a sock monkey birthday party for Cam on Sunday and it was awesome. Here's a few pics from his big day:

His birthday invitation I made (with personal info taken out of course). I just adore these little monkeys:

The table set up:

Monkey cupcakes are a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting. I cut a nilla wafer in half for the mouth. Chocolate chip eyes and chocolate melting wafers stuck in the sides for ears.

Monkey drinking cups are made using a brown drinking cup. Cut a two inch circle out of tan coloured cardstock and cut in half. Glue to cup holding down at corners for about 30 seconds so corners don't peel up. Cut one inch circles (2) out of dark brown cardstock and bend slightly and glue to sides for ears. Glue on 2 googly eyes. These cups were a hit and I got the idea from Martha Stewart!

I made tags using the sock monkey graphic and attached them to the goodie bags with the kids names on the back. The goodie bags are just brown paper lunch bags.

I also glued the above tags to lollipop sticks and glued a larger cardstock circle on the back. I filled votive candle holders with blue jelly beans and stuck the lollipop stick inside.

The little jelly bean bandit caught stealing jelly beans before his party!

Happy Birthday to Camden! OK, I'm totally bawling my eyes out now. Pin It

Happy 3rd Birthday Kirsten!

Pin It Today is my sweet little girl's 3rd birthday! I can't believe she's already three. It's kind of bittersweet. I'm sad that she's growing up so quickly, but she is growing into the sweetest, most generous and kind little girl I know. She has an amazing sense of humour and she amazes me every single day with how smart she is. She is a wonderful little girl and I am a very lucky mommy. Yesterday we celebrated her birthday with a butterfly birthday party. She had so much fun. I am so glad I took vacation this past week, or I know I wouldn't have been able to pull this off. The butterfly cupcakes, although beautiful, were quite time consuming, as were the tissue paper pom poms. In the end, it was all worth it to see the smiles and hear the laughter from my little girl. I got a million pictures of the decor, which is great, but I didn't get a lot of pictures of the birthday girl herself. I tried taking pictures, but she was much too excited to sit still for very many. Plus, being by myself, I had to try to take pictures and keep Camden from pulling down the decorations at the same time. This was not easy. Once the party started, I got even fewer pictures. The house was just too chaotic and chasing Camden around is a full-time job. Oh well, I know she had a great time. When James comes home we're going to have a big party to celebrate both his and Kirsten's birthday together as a family. I can't wait. 45 more days!! Here's a couple pictures of the big day.

flashback: Camden's Very Hungry Caterpillar 1st birthday party

Pin It As I've begun preparing for my little ladies 3rd birthday coming up, I wanted to share some photos from my little guys 1st birthday. Sure, his birthday was 4 1/2 months ago, but I didn't have a blog back then to share how cute it was. My little guy had a great party and it was such a fun theme to do. The kids absolutely loved making the thumbprint very hungry caterpillars too. It was such a great keepsake. If anyone is looking for ideas for a very hungry caterpillar birthday, I have a lot. Here's the pictures from my little man's big day:
