March break madness

Pin It Oh, March break, I was sorry to see you go. It was back to routine today. James and I went back to work, Kirsten to school and Cam to daycare. James and I took some time off last week to not only get some stuff done around the house (yeah for a new playroom!!), but also to spend some time with the kiddos. One day last week we took a drive to an awesome science center. The kids had a lot of fun. My favorite part was the butterfly room, which although was incredibly humid, was also totally awesome. Kirsten and I even had some butterflies land on us. So cool. The kids saw lots of animals there and Kirsten even held a giant African snail in her hands. Here are a few pictures from our adventures at the science center:

a fresh update

Pin It I decided to give Meet the Dubiens a mini makeover. January is always a great time for a fresh update. The pictures in my old header were over a year old and I really wanted to update my logo and buttons to display more of my style. I really love the results, and I'm pretty proud of myself. I have very little knowledge in the graphic design area and I'm pretty pleased with what I've created. It's truly amazing to me what I've learned and managed to teach myself since I've started this blog. I've wanted to pay someone to re-do it so many times, but in the end I always convince myself that I can do it myself for free. Sometimes I like the results and sometimes I don't. This time I LOVE them. What do you think?:

And what I'm most excited about are my new logos I made. These will replace the old logo I had on my pictures. I have a few depending on what type of pictures I'm taking. You won't see these right away because I've done about a million crafts/meals that I haven't posted yet and have my old logo on them, but slowly I'll be incorporating them into my new stuff. LOVE THEM.

ummm, Merry Christmas?

Not quite sure what to say about this one. Apparently my daughter is quite the cookie decorator. My sweet and innocent little 4-year old daughter made this gingerbread cookie for her daddy at a Christmas party. Ummm, what? Everyone was dying of laughter. What a proud mommy moment, lol. Fortunately she had no idea why everyone was laughing and didn't quite get what she had done at all. Whew. This will be one of those things that will thoroughly embarrass her when she's older. Ahhh, kids.

here's what I'm thankful for....

Pin It Today is Canadian Thanksgiving. I really have so much to be thankful for, but these guys are definitely at the top of my list. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian readers out there!









And lastly, my family. This is a terrible photo, but it was the only one Cam would sit still for. I was using my tripod and this was the first photo I snapped. It was so badly underexposed the only way to salvage it was to turn it to black and white. I fixed my camera settings to take more, but Cam wanted nothing to do with more pictures. Little boys!!
